I feel like every solution for this kata is crazier than previous...
Scala translation
Approved!
COBOL translation.
Approved, thanks!
Hey there, can somebody help me understanding this error-message? My code actualy does the the right code translation (c/k situation not done yet) but what is the problem now? Formating? is it the last blank at the end of the "expected"? "Text: "test": expected '.... .... . ..... .... ... .... .... ' to equal '.... .... . ..... .... ... .... ....'"
Thank you!
'.... .... . ..... .... ... .... .... '
'.... .... . ..... .... ... .... ....'
it's hard to see, but yours have a trailing whitespace
yeah, i also guess it's the last blank ... arrrrr ... ^^ thank you!
yes. @rowcased is correct.
Hi, So my code keeps changing the amounts of passed and fails everytime I click on attempt, without changing the code. is it normal?
I'm coding in python 3, I tested in my IDE and works fine
Your IDE does not have the random code generator the testing suite here has. Each time you run your code, you pass some of the tests, then the testing halts. This is why you see a different number of passed tests. Typically, kata have 100 random tests. EDIT: this one has 200 random tests (in Python).
yes. The above comment.
Hey Guys, this kata should be a 6 ou 5 kyu no? The Solution could be "Forced" if you write all the options, but the ideal is to use matrices.
yes, it should have. Everyone voted for 6 kyu, but i guess the moderators decided it was a 7kyu.
This is not 5 kyu or 6 kyu, because the task is very simple and can be bypassed by hardcoding all values (good "intentions" of using matrices are just intensions, the author has to compose the task in such a manner, that cheesing is worthless or is disabled by test suite).
Katas in 6 kyu are more difficult (maybe not by large margin, but still). Also, take a note, that current beta-process is more harsh that it used to be, with less katas are getting overranked.
actually no, most people voted 7. The average you see on the "details" page of the kata is actually a floored value. Being the author, you cannot see it, but when I approved the kata, the other average was actually 7 kyu (which is totally appropriate for this task). Meaning, the average was somewhere between 6.5 and 7, floored to 6 in the details page of the kata.
Cheers
oh ok, thanks for letting me know.
It was a really fun kata!
Thanks!
Prolog translation available.
thanks, but can you do the random testcases for it? Thanks!
They already exist...
oh ok. I just saw 6 tests and got confused. Never mind. I'll approve it.
Approved!
hi, also the js testcases don't seem to have random tests. Someone translated it, but forgot randoms i guess. IF you know how to, could you please provide some for the js? Thanks!
I instead published a TypeScript translation, so either the translator or yourself could edit it (just remove data types from TS and you got JS code). I'd recommend pretty much copy pasting my version of tests, because the current JS translation uses old test framework, which is discouraged.
ok, so i approved the typescript translation, but i still don't get what to do with the js. Can i just delete it or something? Or maybe you could go in and fix it. Sorry, but i don't know how to do it. No option to delete. But thanks anyways.
@B1ts, thanks a lot!
Uhm, it said it got published with failed tests, not sure where exactly... Also I changed the function name to camelCase, which is gonna break existing solutions. There might be a simple fix to that, but I don't remember it, sorry.
uh, so is the js working or having errors?
No one complained so far, so it's probably ok.
Ok good. Thanks for your help.
JavaScript version is using the old test framework.
it's chai. what else? I didn't do that anyways. It's a translation.
fixed.
No random tests in JS (Please refer this ~~)
hmm, i didn't do the js translation. I will tell the person who kumited it. Thanks for letting me know.
fixed.
C Translation kumited.
Approved!
.
hi,
D = (1,2)
=>D = (1,4)
, no?seems I got the task wrong.... Meaning the description is lacking stuff. ;)
oh, yes. Sorry about that. I didn't see it. I fixed it now.
also, repeated letters are no difference. They are just as normal letters. No special things to it. I don't think i need to mention that in the description.
ok, that tiny error actually led me in some weird countries of thoughts and I totally missed what the task actually is.
But note that you actually never say what the dots mean. That's the main problem with the description.
the dots are just the translation. I say, that's what it needs to be translated into.
(it's not to me that you have to tell it, but in the description ;) )
ok, done!
